Scorrier House is a beautiful country house set in the Cornish countryside only ten minutes drive from the many beaches on Cornwalls North Coast.
Built in 1778 by the Williams family, seven generations have been at Scorrier House ever since. They made their fortune out of mining and many famous people came to visit including two future Kings of France. It is still lived in as a private home by Richard and Caroline Williams and their family.
The house is situated in beautiful flower filled gardens surrounded by 450 acres of woods and parkland guaranteeing privacy and exclusivity. A racehorse breeding stud farm is also run on site and the broodmares and their foals can often be seen grazing in the park in front of the house. In recent years the house and grounds have been used as a film set.
The house has a perfect setting overlooking parkland and can accommodate 160 people with up to 110 people seated in one room for a meal. A marquee can be used for additional numbers. It is a perfect venue for a wedding ceremony (licensed for weddings), private party, corporate function, product launch or open-air event. Scorrier House offers style and exclusivity, the only people there will by your guests.
We believe that every event is special and individual, Scorrier House offers a wonderful alternative to the standard hotel venue. We will happily help in the planning as much or as little as you wish and on the day we will liaise to make sure everything runs smoothly.
The house is easily accessed by the A30 trunk road half a mile away. There are regular daily flights to most of the UK from Newquay Airport. We are ten minutes drive to the mainline train station at Redruth. We are situated 15 minutes from Truro and twenty minutes from Falmouth.
