Scorier House is a Cornwall wedding venue with a difference – it is totally exclusive. Scorrier House is a private country house and weddings hosted in its halls are thus one hundred percent private. There will be nobody else other than your own guests. Licensed for 160 people and able to seat 120 people in one room, Scorrier’s stately proportions make it perfect for large and small weddings without the need of a marquee. You will have complete use of the following rooms:
The Grand hall
The Grand Hall is the center of the house. Chairs can be configured theater-style in front of the majestic double staircase for an unforgettable marriage ceremony. The bride’s descent of the double staircase is an entree like no other. The Hall can then be transformed into a formal dining room for 120 guests and decorated entirely to your whim.
The Drawing Room was designed for parties. Its classical proportions and gilded decorations are perfect for dining or dancing, or both. As an alternative to the Grand Hall, couples can marry in bay window of the Drawing Room in front of 80 guests.

Double French windows lead you out of the Drawing Room and into the fragrant conservatory. Housed in this classical orangery are hundreds of radiant plants that the Williams family have collected from all over the world, including some especially rare and tropical species.

The Bar was recently built specifically for this room. Run by professional bar staff and offering a full range of premium spirits, soft drinks, beers, wines and cocktails, the Bar has proved to be a popular addition to our facilities. In the summer double doors open onto the garden, while comfortable seating make the Blue Room an ideal area to relax.
The Bridal Suite is the master bedroom of the house. With regal views over park and garden, the suite serves as the bride’s changing room and the couple’s retreat. At no extra charge, the suite is available for the wedding night with a private breakfast served the following day in the Blue Room.
Garden and Grounds
Scorrier House is licensed for civil ceremonies, but so too is the Gazebo in the pool garden. For a unique summer ceremony, chairs can be taken outside and the marriage ceremony can be conducted to a backdrop of herbaceous borders, verdant lawns and the House in the background.
All 10-acres of Scorrier’s gardens are open for guests to use during wedding receptions. Serve drinks and canapés in the pool garden during a summer afternoon, or arrange games on the lawns overlooking the Park: Cricket, rounders, boules, crocket and other games can entertain both adults and children during the day.
Explore the garden beforehand to find the camellias and magnolias, old walls and relics and vistas and lawns that you want as your wedding photo backdrop. Guests are encouraged to explore its famous walks, plants, walls and wild meadows.
