Tucked away within Scorrier Estate, hidden behind ancient walls and seemingly lost in time, we are delighted to introduce Sidgeons Secret Garden — a beautiful new place to stay in one of the estate’s most secluded corners.

This peaceful spot has its own remarkable story. For many years, the garden lay forgotten, completely overgrown with head-high brambles, fallen trees, and crumbling walls. Hidden beneath the tangle was a space full of history, character, and quiet potential.

In 2020, restoration of the garden began. The first step was to carefully clear the space and make the old walls safe, revealing once again the shape and spirit of this ancient walled garden. Since then, Sidgeons has slowly been brought back to life, with great care taken to preserve its atmosphere while creating somewhere truly special to stay.

Full of character and quiet charm, Sidgeons Secret Garden offers a chance to step away from the pace of everyday life and settle into a slower rhythm, surrounded by the timeless atmosphere of the estate.

At the heart of the garden is a newly built shepherd’s hut, thoughtfully designed for comfort in every season. Beautifully furnished, it includes a king-size bed, bathroom, living area, and woodburner for those chillier nights, creating a warm and inviting retreat whatever the weather.

Just outside, guests will find an open-sided cookhouse complete with an Egg barbecue, stove, fridge, and everything needed to prepare a feast. Whether it is a long, lazy breakfast, a simple supper after a day exploring Cornwall, or an evening meal cooked over the fire, the space is designed to make outdoor living feel both relaxed and special.

Sidgeons is a place for switching off, settling in, and enjoying the rare feeling of having somewhere truly private to yourself. With the historic grandeur of Scorrier Estate all around, it is a setting that feels both peaceful and full of story.
